Residents will get several chances this week to make their voices heard about data center projects moving forward in McLennan and Bosque counties.

Two of those meetings concern the proposed Lacy Lakeview data center near Ross. Another town hall meeting in Clifton will address the CyrusOne data center under construction near Lake Whitney. Here are details of how to get involved.

  • What’s happening: Bosque County officials host a presentation and town hall meeting on the $1.2 billion CyrusOne data center. The project has been under construction since 2025 and is located directly downstream of the Lake Whitney dam. County residents have expressed concerns about the scope of the project, its impact on the Brazos River and the county’s offer of tax incentives

Tuesday, Jan. 13

Ross City Council to explore legal options for opposing Lacy Lakeview data center

  • Time: 7 p.m. 
  • Location: Ross City Hall, 1527 Ross Road, Ross, TX
  • What’s happening: Ross City Council, which represents a community of 245 residents, will discuss ways for “dealing with” the proposed Lacy Lakeview data center, which would be located on a 520-acre tract about a mile from the city. Lacy Lakeview is attempting to annex that land into its city limits. Area residents opposing the data center routinely meet at the Ross Volunteer Fire Department directly across the street from Ross City Hall.
