Justin Hamel

Justin Hamel is a visual journalist for the Bridge through a partnership with Catchlight and Report for America. He’s excited to help shape the Bridge’s visual journalism by ensuring every story includes strong visuals. His goal is to create meaningful photos that reflect Waco by listening deeply to people within the community; photographing not only the concerns impacting their lives, but also the celebrations, dreams and traditions. Before joining the Waco Bridge, Justin Hamel spent six years in El Paso as a freelance photojournalist covering migration along the U.S.-Mexico border and the energy industry in the Permian Basin.

Andrea Kosar

Andrea Kosar is the general manager for the Bridge, where she is responsible for the business and operational aspects. Previously, she served as president/CEO of the Cen-Tex Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. She is also a small business owner. A Baylor University alumna, Andrea began her career as the morning news anchor for 25 News. Today, she continues to spotlight local stories as the host of “Downtown Depot” on her local NPR station. She serves on the boards of the Heart of Texas Council of Governments Economic Development, City Center Waco, and the Waco Symphony Orchestra, and previously held leadership roles on the boards of McCIF, Keep Waco Beautiful, and Prosper Waco.

Sam Shaw

Sam Shaw covers government and growth for the Bridge. Previously, he spend the past two years at the Longview News-Journal, where he covered county government, school board and environmental justice issues. His work on the emerging lithium extraction industry in Northeast Texas has won statewide attention. Before Longview, he wrote for several publications in his native Colorado and reported news features for the High Country News. Sam earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California at Santa Cruz and a master’s in journalism from Goldsmiths University in London.

J.B. Smith

J.B. Smith is the editor-in-chief of the Bridge, where he oversees the news operation. He has spent 33 years in Texas journalism, including 27 at the Waco Tribune-Herald. As a reporter, he covered city government, the environment, immigration and housing. His reporting has won numerous statewide awards, including a Headliners award for a series tracing the deadly journey of teens from Mexico into the Arizona desert, and the Baylor University DNA scientist who helped identify their remains. As managing editor for the past seven years, he enjoyed coaching young reporters in daily and in-depth coverage.

Dominic Villa

Dominic Villa is the community engagement and events manager for the Bridge, and his focus is on building connections across Waco and McLennan County. He is a Waco-born photographer and videographer with a background in marketing. He has worked on a variety of projects for clients ranging from Baylor University to local businesses and nonprofits. Before joining the Bridge, Dominic was part of the marketing team at TFNB Your Bank for Life, where he helped shape the bank’s community engagement and branding efforts. Raquel Villatoro

Raquel Villatoro covers education issues for the Bridge. A first-generation Salvadoran-American, Raquel previously worked at the Tyler Morning Telegraph, where she covered health care issues, the first medical school in East Texas, immigration and Latino communities. Raquel also reported on RSV rates in Northeast Texas and highlighted community efforts to showcase Latino culture in Tyler. In addition, Raquel previously interned at The Acadiana Advocate in Lafayette, Louisiana in 2022. Raquel holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and history from the University of North Texas.

MALCOLM DUNCAN JR.

Malcolm Duncan Jr. is a Waco native with a family history in the automotive business and civic engagement. He served three terms on the Waco City Council, including two terms as mayor. He has served as a board member for the Waco Foundation, Transformation Waco, Prosper Waco, Waco Housing Authority & Affiliates, and City Center Waco, as well as the Waco-McLennan County Public Health District, Tax Increment Finance (TIF) District, and Waco Family Medicine.

ANN HARDER

Baylor alumna and Waco native Ann Harder, a former 25 News KXXV primetime anchor, hosts two weekly podcasts: “Central Texas Life” and “Central Texas Events.” She volunteers on the Waco Symphony Association Board of Directors, the Waco Symphony Council and the Oakwood Cemetery Board of Directors. She is also president of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of Texas and the secretary of the Waco Colony of the Texas Society of Mayflower Descendants. Harder studied voice at Baylor and enjoys performing for various local groups, singing with her church choir, gardening and spending a bit more time on the tennis court. However, her real passion is for her husband, Mike, and their family, which includes three adult sons, two daughters-in-law, and three beautiful granddaughters: Philece, Lydia Farrow, and Ruby.

DR. PEACHES HENRY

Dr. Peaches Henry is president of the Waco NAACP and an English professor at McLennan Community CollegeShe graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with two bachelor’s degrees — one in education and one in liberal arts. She has a master’s and a doctorate in English and comparative literature from Columbia University in New York. Currently, she is a professor at McLennan Community College, where she teaches composition and British literature.

DAN INGHAM

Dan Ingham is the senior vice president for marketing and communications at The First National Bank of Central Texas. He has been in that role since 2015. Prior to joining the bank, he worked as a news and sports anchor at KWTX-TV in Waco for 13 years. Outside of the bank, he serves on the boards of the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce and the Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo. He also serves as a radio and TV broadcaster for Baylor athletics. Ingham and his wife, Julie, have two children: Greyson and Evelyn Claire.

NATALIE KELINSKE

Natalie Kelinske is the Senior Director of Communications and Donor Services at Waco Foundation. She graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism/Public Relations and brings two decades of marketing and fundraising experience to her position. Natalie’s commitment to improving the lives of Central Texans developed from a passion to serve others. In her role at Waco Foundation, Natalie works with donors and community supporters to promote a culture of philanthropic giving to benefit our community. Natalie is a 2014 National Leadership Academy for the Public’s Health fellow and a 2008 graduate of Leadership Pipeline, a Leadership Texas program. She previously served on the Prosper Waco Health Steering Committee, chaired the Women’s Health Workgroup and served as a member of the West Hospital Authority Board and the West City Council. She currently sits on the West ISD school board and is leading efforts to revitalize the West Education Foundation.”

DILLON MEEK

Dillon Meek is a graduate of Baylor University and Baylor Law School, after which he has worked as an attorney at a law firm and Waco-based real estate investment company. He was the mayor of Waco from 2020-24. During Meek’s tenure as mayor, he worked strategically to aggressively and proactively grow the Waco economy, invest in infrastructure in anticipation of growth, and to improve Waco’s quality of life. He is an owner of First Title Company of Waco and serves as general counsel of the Cromwell Commercial Group. Meek has served on the board of directors for the Waco Foundation, Waco Metropolitan Planning Organization, City Center Waco, Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Waco Sports Commission and Unbound Now. His greatest joys in his life are his faith and his family, which includes his wife, Lindsey, and his children: Mabry, Davis and Marion. He is active in his local church and enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking and college football.

DR. MIA MOODY

Mia Moody is a professor and chair of the Baylor University Department of Journalism, Public Relations and New Media in the College of Arts & Sciences. She joined the faculty of Baylor University in 2001 and has maintained an active research portfolio in addition to her teaching, mentorship and leadership roles. Moodys research emphasizes image repair, intersectionality, critical race theory and media framing of women, and people of color. The author and co-author of four books, she has also been widely published in various academic journals. She is the recipient of various AEJMC honors, including the Barrow Minority Doctoral Student Scholarship, the Outstanding Woman in Journalism award, the Lionel C. Barrow Jr. Award for Distinguished Achievement in Diversity Research and Education, and a 2019 Fellow in the AEJMC Institute for Diverse Leadership. Her journalism experience includes working as a Waco Tribune-Herald staff writer, Elegant Woman magazine’s editor and publisher, and Stevens Publishing’s managing editor. She received her B.A. in journalism from Texas A&M University, her M.A. in journalism from Baylor University, her M.S.Ed.. in educational psychology, and her Ph.D. in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin. She is the proud mother of Heidi, a pastry chef, and Tim and Bill, both students at Baylor.

CAELIE TERRAZAS

Caelie Terrazas, a Waco native, holds a bachelor’s degree in corporate communication from Baylor University and a master’s degree in strategic communication and innovation from Texas Tech University. She also holds certificates in advanced social media practice and inclusive and ethical leadership. She serves on the boards of the Hispanic Leader’s Network, Waco Civic Theatre, and Keep Waco Beautiful. Caelie is a certified facilitator for the LeadershipPlenty Institute, a member of the Baylor Latinx Faculty and Staff Association, and a mentor to first-generation college students through Baylor’s Adelante program. Terrazas has worked at Baylor University for over five years and currently serves as Assistant Director of Community Relations, advancing the Baylor Waco Initiative by connecting university resources with local organizations and fostering collaboration throughout the city. Outside of her professional work, Caelie enjoys supporting local businesses with her husband, Eric, and spending time with their two dogs, Pongo and Yoda.

THE REV. AARON ZIMMERMAN

The Rev. Aaron M. G. Zimmerman is the rector of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Waco. Before ordained ministry, he ran a nonprofit in Central Asia, wrote case studies at Harvard Business School and worked in human resources at a multinational corporation. Every week, he co-hosts Same Old Song, a popular preaching podcast. He serves on the boards of StoryMakersNYC, the Great Commission Foundation of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas and the Waco Foundation. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and a master’s of divinity degree from Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry.
